Are you an expectant Dad?
Being told you are going to be a dad is one of the most special moments of your life and being honest I will remember the moment forever. However, things that follow on from this special moment in the months leading up to the D-Day can really annoy an expectant dad.
You Will Have To Sell Your Toys
Now, this is one that has wound me up the most… suddenly everybody knows your finances or should I say they think they know your finances. You are going to have to sell your toys Mr Grumble… why will I?
“The kit car will be gone soon you will be selling that to buy a pram!!! You won’t be going on any trips on the bike now…” erm I don’t think so??
What makes you think I am going to sell my toys because I have a baby?
You Won’t Have Any Time to….
Right… you may work 60 hours a week in a dead end job, but I don’t. In fact, I spent more time writing this than I have worked all week so don’t give me that rubbish. Maybe I will want to spend all the time in the world with the new addition but either way, I can pick and choose… every day is a Saturday for me.
Stinky Nappy Talk
Everybody has stinky nappy story and I struggle to deal with my own poo so yes this is going to be a hard one to deal with but so what… it’s only for a little while, and it is just payback for what I use to leave for my parents….
Kids are Expensive
I don’t agree… (at the moment) they are as expensive as you make them… I would rather cut costs now and save up for them for when they are older and when they need cars and university than have them poncing about in designer baby clothes…
Constant Baby Talk And Nesting
Seriously we get you are pregnant, and I am an expectant dad, but we have nine months to get stuff done so don’t keep nagging and panicking about it and just relax for for gods sake women.
You then decide to escape to the pub for a quiet pint and a good cigar to talk about anything but babies. However, as soon as there is silence or a break in conversation somebody thinks it needs filling with something baby related.
All your mates who have kids are constantly going on at how rubbish it i. ah, you have got all its to come… blah blah blah that is not encouraging for any father to be so shut the hell up.
Anyway, that has been a few of the things that have annoyed me over the last nine months.
